Flækøyhøe UPP is spring's steepest adventure, known for its challenging slopes and beautiful surroundings. The race starts at Bismo at about 400 meters above sea level and finishes at a cairn at 1100 meters above sea level, marking the boundary of Breheimen National Park. Participants can register individually or in teams of up to 5 people, and in 2024 the race will take place on Saturday, June 15th. New this year is that the recreational class can take the "Flækøyhøe Upp light" finishing at Øvre Flaten at about 620 meters above sea level.
Highlights
- The race goes through the center of Skjåk and along the pedestrian and bicycle path to Skamsarbrua, before it veers towards Morken farm and onto a steep trail.
- There is a tradition of celebrating anniversaries; in 2019, the 10th anniversary was celebrated with free participation for everyone under 16 in the fitness class.
- The records in the women's category and men's category are 35:39 by Ingeborg Synstnes Hole and 31:02 by Geir Steig, respectively.
