Jentebølgen is a public health run of 5-6 km, specifically aimed at women, with the goal of promoting physical activity, mental health, and community. This informal race, which takes place on June 2nd, encourages girls of all ages to participate, regardless of fitness level. Last year, nearly 17,000 girls took part, and this year the organizer hopes for 20,000. The main partner is Mental Helse Ungdom, which works to give young people a reason to choose life.

Highlights

  • Jentebølgen is about experiencing mastery, having fun, and encouraging women and girls to be active.
  • NOK 10 per runner is donated to Mental Health Youth, and participating companies are encouraged to support the organization directly.
  • The race is organized in 30 locations across Norway, from Alta in the north to Flekkefjord in the south.
