Backyard Stavanger is a backyard ultra that takes place in late September each year. It follows the classic backyard formula where all participants run laps of 6.7 km every hour, and you must be ready for a new lap before the next one starts in order to continue. A maximum of 12 laps can be run, which corresponds to 50 miles or 80 kilometers. The fastest runner on the 12th lap is considered the winner of the race, and the times before this do not matter. The course is partly gravel and partly asphalt, so it is important to dress appropriately and be prepared for changing weather conditions.

Highlights

  • Participants run laps of 6.7 km every hour.
  • A maximum of 12 laps are run, which corresponds to 50 miles or 80 kilometers.
  • There are facilities where you can store food, drinks, changes of clothes, and extra shoes between laps.
